California. We began the roofing education process by seeking five bids. We were told various things about how to fix our problem roof but most of them turned out to be wrong.<\/span> \u2026 More<\/span> There was real misinformation from most of the roofers saying that a repair was possible ( it wasn\u2019t) or an expensive re-layment was the only option. Our last bid was from Guardian Roof. With one look, Mario correctly identified that our then current tiles were discontinued because they were defective and in fact would not tolerate being pulled up and re-laid without a lot of breakage, as three other companies had bid. This observation was corroborated by another informed roofer but who was more expensive. So, for the SAME price that others were quoting to pull off the whole roof, repair a small section with new tiles and then re-use our old ( defective and crumbling) tiles to put back down, Guardian gave us a whole NEW tile roof as well as repairing some newly discovered termite damage. They were very responsive to our needs and worked steadily to complete the whole job in a week\u2019s time, after the tiles were available. It looks beautiful! We were very happy with their honest and correct assessment of what was really needed, their very fair pricing, and their good work. He looked up to the roof in my garage where the vent pipes were located and noticed that daylight was coming in from both roof exhaust pipes (one coming from the furnace and the other from water heater). He told me he would go onto my roof to inspect them, but unbeknownst to me he not only helped me inspect them but he also brought his caulking gun to help me seal the cracks on both exhaust pipes without charging me. I don\u2019t see any daylight coming in now!

I made some calls, got a few estimates and chose Guardian. Now, Guardian was not the lowest estimate. But, the person who did the estimate arrived with satellite photos<\/span> \u2026 More<\/span> of our roof, notes about where he thought the leak was, and where it would show as a leak in our home. Before we entered my home, he told me where the leak would be in our interior ceiling.

There were 2 incidents where Ruben gave me a "what you talking about" look : ) in regards to an agreement made with Mario for the section of the chimney and getting some extra tiles at the end of the job. As I was looking for an alternative, I came across GAF's solar shingles and I was very interested in them.Guardian Roofs is GAF's certified installer in SoCal area. Larry from Guardian Roofs reached out to me within a day after I filled out the "Request for a Quote" form on GAF's website. Told me about their company and we chatted about my needs for the new roof and solar system. Within the next few days, he sent me a proposal, explained every single detail to me carefully and patiently answered all of my questions and concerns. He truly enjoy working with Larry because he would find out the answers for any questions he wasn't able to answer on the call and actually called me back and explained them to me thoroughly.I called\/emailed six roofing companies\/contractors, only four responded within the first week with a quote. The quote from Guardian Roofs was the second lowest (cheaper than Tesla's solar roof). The other three quotes were traditional solar panels and reroof using the existing tiles. I quickly decided to go Guardian Roof's quote not only it's much cheaper than Tesla's solar roof, but their panels also looked much nicer than the traditional ones.My only concern was that without the space between the rack and roof, how would the heat generated by the panels being released? I asked Larry this question and he explained to me but I didn't quite understand, so I asked the owner, Justin, the same question during the installation and he explained to me by showing me the actual products. Turned out the combination of the underlaying sheet, GAF's Timberline Shingles and the actual panels were playing a big part in handling the heat.The installation took a week to complete. I'm very pleased that the owner himself actually came out a couple of days and climbed on the roof to make sure everything was done correctly. He was also there to answer all of my questions about the job. Additionally, GAF sent a technician from the San Jose headquarter to oversee the installation of the panels. We had a major roof leak during the last atmospheric river in So. California. We began the roofing education process by seeking five bids. We were told various things about how to fix our problem roof but most of them turned out to be wrong.<\/span> \u2026 More<\/span> There was real misinformation from most of the roofers saying that a repair was possible ( it wasn\u2019t) or an expensive re-layment was the only option. Our last bid was from Guardian Roof. With one look, Mario correctly identified that our then current tiles were discontinued because they were defective and in fact would not tolerate being pulled up and re-laid without a lot of breakage, as three other companies had bid. This observation was corroborated by another informed roofer but who was more expensive. So, for the SAME price that others were quoting to pull off the whole roof, repair a small section with new tiles and then re-use our old ( defective and crumbling) tiles to put back down, Guardian gave us a whole NEW tile roof as well as repairing some newly discovered termite damage. They were very responsive to our needs and worked steadily to complete the whole job in a week\u2019s time, after the tiles were available. It looks beautiful! We were very happy with their honest and correct assessment of what was really needed, their very fair pricing, and their good work. During this last heavy rain I noticed that my furnace exhaust pipe was dripping rainwater down into my garage and I wanted to get this fixed as soon as possible, during this short break, before the next big rain event that is expected this<\/span> \u2026 More<\/span> weekend. I was looking for roofing contractors last week and was able to schedule Guardian Roofs to come out yesterday. I\u2019m very thankful that they sent Mario to come out for inspection. He looked up to the roof in my garage where the vent pipes were located and noticed that daylight was coming in from both roof exhaust pipes (one coming from the furnace and the other from water heater). He told me he would go onto my roof to inspect them, but unbeknownst to me he not only helped me inspect them but he also brought his caulking gun to help me seal the cracks on both exhaust pipes without charging me. I don\u2019t see any daylight coming in now!

A few weeks back I uncovered evidence of a leak in my roof. I made some calls, got a few estimates and chose Guardian. Now, Guardian was not the lowest estimate. But, the person who did the estimate arrived with satellite photos<\/span> \u2026 More<\/span> of our roof, notes about where he thought the leak was, and where it would show as a leak in our home. Before we entered my home, he told me where the leak would be in our interior ceiling.
